The Sandman Inn was clean and nice with breakfast and parking included. Nice pools and friendly staff.
A bit far from downtown Santa Barbara but no problem if you have a car.

Just about everything for the budget travel. Attention to details. Two bottled waters available in the room. Who does that anymore? Providing a little tube of toothpaste, toothbrush, razor and nicer amenities in the bathroom which is not customary for budget motels. The quaint theme about the place - a real "motor" inn. Newish furniture (comfortable bed) and remodeling with the 60's theme in mind (at least in room 211). Refrigerator that kept things cold, microwave and tea and coffee available in the check in area. Fantastic continental "plus" breakfast in a very sweet and wonderfully decorated 60's motif diner - really nice theme decor - and quite a surprise. Great spread of edibles to choose from including breakfast burritos to microwave. And yoghurt and fresh fruit. Overall, extremely pleased with the budget Sandman Inn experience.

Walls very very thin and the amorous activities of the couple next door were very obvious and very very noisy - lots of groaning

The brealkfast facility was excellent. The staff was unusually friendly and helpful.
The room was better than adequate, but rather Spartan. Inside lighting could be better.

It was reasonably priced and very homey feeling. Bed and pillows were quite comfortable. Quiet also.
Most disappointed that I was not allowed to split credit card payments between two peoples cards. Have never stayed in a hotel that did not allow that! That needs to be changed. Did not care for the coffee in the rooms, was lead to believe there would be 'coffee pots', you cannot make your own coffee in the one-cup unit given.

Set in a lovely area, lovely surroundings with trees, shrubs and plants, plenty of parking outside your room... lots of staff about during the day to help out with any queries. A choice of 2 pools and plenty of beds for guests.. the breakfast in the 'diner' was great... a lovely selection of cereals, juice, coffee and tea's, fruit and other microwavable items making it a nice change for a motel stay The room had a microwave, fridge and plenty of space.... We had a car to drive to the main strip of Santa Barbara which was about 10 mins away, or catch a bus across the road from the motel...
The shower was not great,... it was very low so you had to crouch down to wash your hair...

towels were very old, greying and were so thin. beds were so soft and old they were very uncomfortable. location is fair distance from downtown Santa Barbara so you have to drive everywhere. very basic decor to room fine if you are looking for a very basic room to put your head down at night but you wouldnt want to spend any amount of time in the room.

The service desk lied to me. I called about changing credit cards and was told that it wouldnt be a problem. I'll never stay there or refer again. This was the fourth and last time. Front desk LIED. Total lie.

Big bed, large flat screen tv, DVD player, excellent breakfast, pool & spa
Older bathrooms, enamel flaking off shower floor, quite far out of Santa Barbara
